Rules Of Thumb

Rules Of Thumb

As a rule of thumb, do not apply online for a business line of credit card that has been solicited to you through e-mail. This is because e-mail is not secure and the simple act of opening an anonymous e-mail or clicking on a link within can greatly jeopardize the security of your information. You are at greater risk from opening phantom e-mail than you are from legitimate applications.

Read the TOS

Be sure to read all the details, including the Terms of Service (TOS). Most forms require that you mark an X or otherwise indicate that you agree to the TOS. Do not click on them blindly because if you apply online for a building business credit card, it is your responsibility to make sure you understand everything you are instructed to read. Small print can now be enhanced so everyone can see it-online commerce does not take kindly to those who don’t read the rules.
